Open Sessions
Everyone age 7 & up is welcome in our open sessions - whether you ride skateboards, metal stunt scooters (no plastic or foldable allowed), BMX, inline or quads.
Come along and pay for however long you’d like to skate. We don’t have fixed session times, so whether it’s a power hour or the whole session, we are flexible to your needs. All experience levels welcome.
It’s tricky to know when a session will be quiet (we get asked a lot). We do know that it’s gonna be a chilled one when the sun is shining, and the pavements are dry outside.

BOOKING ESSENTIAL
Under 7’s
Every Sunday morning, Spit & Sawdust is taken over by a very enthusiastic rabble of youngsters for our special under 7 session.
Under 7's is exactly that - for anyone aged 0-6! It’s very fun and relaxed, and the only time that balance bikes, plastic scooters, or basically anything little with wheels is allowed in the park *No pedal bikes - the park is too full of little ones for faster modes of transport!. It’s a supported session, so parents/guardians/appointed responsible folk are welcome in the park with the little ‘uns to supervise, help them out or sit at the sidelines with a coffee.
The session is very popular, and booking is essential. It’s the perfect place for kids to let off steam safely and begin to learn about the space and skateboarding or scootering.
Ages 0 - 6
Sundays 10 - 12 pm £7
Pre booking only - No walk-in spots available
Fancy having the park all to yourself…

Beginners & Safety
The Skatepark can be a bit of a daunting place if you’re new to it, especially when it’s a little busy. You might hear people talk about skatepark etiquette and be wondering what all these unspoken rules are! We’ve got you …. scroll down and have a read.
Simply put it just means being considerate to other users and making sure everyone has a good time & a great session.
1. Don't Be a "Snake" (Wait Your Turn)
Wait in Line: Understand the "unspoken" line-up/queue at bowls and popular obstacles.
No Dropping In on Others: Never jump in front of someone who is already in the middle of their run.
One at a Time: Bowls, mini-verts, and rails are generally one person at a time.
The "Flow" Rule: Watch how the park flows before you jump in; different paths often connect.
2. Respect the Space (And the Locals)
Ledges Aren't Benches: Don't sit, lounge, or stand on ledges, rails, or in the middle of a bowl.
Keep it Clean: Don't leave trash or litter; pick up after yourself.
Ask Before You Wax: Don't blindly apply wax to ledges or rails; it can make them too slick for others.
Don't "Comp" People: Don't follow someone around just to copy their tricks to one-up them.
3. Safety First, Cool Always
Shout "Board!": If you bail and your board goes flying, yell "BOARD!" to warn others.
Get Up Fast: If you fall, move out of the way as quickly as possible.
Wear a Helmet: Nothing is less cool than a preventable head injury.
No "Buzzing": Don't zoom past beginners closely; it's intimidating.
4. Vibe Check: Be Positive
Hype Each Other Up: If someone lands a trick, smack your board on the ground or yell "Yeeeeew!" to show appreciation.
Respect All Riders: Whether it's a scooter, BMX, or skateboard, everyone has an equal right to be there.
Help Beginners: Encourage newbies rather than mocking them.
5. Smart Tips for Beginners
Pick Quiet Hours: Go early in the morning or during school hours when it’s less crowded.
Watch First: Spend 10 minutes watching how locals move through the park.
Know Your Limits: Start small and work your way up to bigger ramps.
The Golden Rule: Treat the park with respect, and be kind to others. It’s about building a community, not just riding!

By signing the Consent Form, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions & Safety Information:
The risk of injury from the activities involved in using the skate park is significant, including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist. All participants knowingly and freely assume such risks, both known and unknown, and assume full responsibility for their participation and for having and using the appropriate safety equipment. We do not accept any responsibility for other participants’ failure to comply with these rules other than due to our negligence.
We strongly recommend that satisfactory safety equipment be worn by all participants at all times. This includes helmets, wrist guards, knee and elbow pads.
Under 16’s MUST wear helmets unless a parent or guardian consents to them not wearing one (tick box on form). Under-16s must wear helmets and knee pads on the vert ramp.
If you engage in activities without safety equipment, you do so at your own risk.
If you have any medical conditions (permanent or temporary) or think you may be pregnant, please consult your doctor for medical advice before using the park. It is your own responsibility to ensure you are fit to participate. You must inform us of any medical conditions.
All equipment must be in good working order with no loose parts.
You are responsible for maintaining your own equipment.
Do not attempt to ride or skate beyond your own ability and skill level. Park staff are on hand for informal advice or if you are unsure about how to skate/ride in the park.
Be aware of users who are younger or less experienced than yourself.

All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult over 18. It is the parent or responsible adult who is ultimately responsible for that child.
We do not advise beginners and young children use the park at peak times. We have a separate session for young participants, and we also offer coaching. Please ask a member of staff for more information.
