Anyone who’s spent more than 5 minutes in Spit has likely heard us mention Bacareto! Our lovely new sister organisation opened on Church Street in the city centre in 2021, in a building also housing the new Cardiff Skateboard Club shop. Bacareto is a Venetian inspired cafe bar, a place to go for a quick spritz and snack, or somewhere you are very welcome to while away a long afternoon/evening grazing and drinking in a relaxed and friendly space.
They are a social enterprise too, just like us. We are always thinking of ways to work together and link up more - so have decided to make a joint Newsletter to let all our customers know about the various goings on in both venues.
Every 6 weeks or so, we’ll send you the latest on all our in house events, happenings, classes, specials and deals. You can also keep up to date with the work of our team, and community, from exhibitions to tastings, and supper clubs they are hosting around the city.
We’ve teamed up with Herbivore again to host another of our Celtic Calendar suppers.
This time we'll be celebrating Lammas, the first harvest, when a bounty of fruits and vegetables are ready to pick. Simon and Nia have created a delicious menu full of the joys of summer.

On Sunday July 27th we are making a day to appreciate all things grown! Expect a utopia of plants, a day hanging out in our gorgeous yarden, chilled music & great food. Do you want to be a part of it?

We are looking for casual front-of-house/skatepark summer staff. If you’re sociable, adaptable and hard working with previous cafe/bar experience, we’d love to hear from you.
The role entails all the usual front of house stuff like taking orders and payments, delivering food, stocking up, generally keeping the place clean, tidy and ticking over. You’ll also be working on the skatepark desks, checking people in for skate sessions and lessons and hiring out equipment.
One to two shifts a week (usually weekends), with potential for extra to cover annual leave. £12.60 per hour, free skatepark entry, free food on shift, paid breaks, staff discount, plus paid holidays and pension if you qualify.

We’ve had a little revamp of our menu for the arrival of the Spring/Summer season - All the favourites are still there but with added oomph. Our Dirty Chips have been pimped up, and we’ve been listening to your feedback on the Ma’doner’ making sure you can have it just the way you want it!
We take time and pride in our food, making everything in-house - from our burgers and chips down to our burger sauces, buns and flatbread, slaw, onion rings, pickles… you name it, we make it! We buy from local suppliers and make sure all our meat, cheese and eggs are organic.

We’re starting the year off with another supper club celebrating the Celtic Wheel of the Year. Nia has put together a cosy menu using local winter produce, with a little hint of spring at the end to get us in the mood for the warmer weather to come.

With the emphasis on fun and progression these are a great opportunity for young skateboarders who want an introduction to competition.

Join us in Christmas Limbo for a day of fun, food, drinks and Xmas chaos. It’s the annual winter wonderjam. We’re modifying the hip replacement from Halloween to create Brandon’s Peak, slinging some prizes and having a fun ol’time !!

Christmas is coming!! We have another night market planned, this time on a MONDAY evening from 6-10pm. The market will be entirely set up in the skatepark (no skating this time), and we will have a lovely cosy set up in the cafe for people to eat, drink & hang out. Now all we need are some beautiful stalls to fill it!! If you’re a maker, creator, artist or designer we would love you to get in touch.
